Before you order
Ask the cemetery before you choose a size
Every cemetery has its own requirements. A beautiful design still has to fit the lot. These are the questions that keep an order from stalling.
Question 1
What size does this lot allow?
Cemeteries limit width and height by the lot, and some sections allow only flat markers. Ask about your lot, not only the cemetery in general. The longer guide on this site describes limits families often run into. Your cemetery’s written rules are the ones that apply.
Question 2
Who pours the foundation?
Many cemeteries require a concrete foundation. Some pour it themselves and bill the family. Others let the monument company pour it. The shipping policy says a cemetery foundation fee is separate, and that we tell you during the order if your cemetery requires its own crew.
Question 3
What has to be approved before anyone sets the stone?
Cemeteries usually want a drawing with dimensions, the inscription, the granite, and the lot information. Approval can take days or weeks. The guides below walk through that paperwork. We do not keep a private rule sheet for every cemetery.
Guides already on the site
These articles describe rules families commonly meet. They are not a substitute for the sheet your cemetery gives you.

What you get from us
Bring the cemetery name and, if you have it, the rules for the lot. On a design call we can look at them with you. We install nearby or ship free. Outside Ada and the surrounding communities, the cemetery or a local setter places the stone.
